Proteins are the molecular machines of life, used for many therapeutic, diagnostic, chemical, agricultural and food applications. Designing and optimizing proteins takes a lot of expert knowledge and manual effort, through the use of custom computational and biological tools.

Machine learning is revolutionising this space, by enabling high-fidelity protein models. At Cradle, we offer a software platform for AI-guided discovery and optimization of proteins, so that biologists can design proteins faster and at scale. We are already used by clients across pharma, biotech, agritech, foodtech, and academia.

Your Role

As a Scientific Consultant, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers achieve success with our software and services. You’ll work closely with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, mapping their needs and goals to Cradle’s capabilities, and guiding them in how to best use our platform for antibody discovery and optimisation. You’ll act as a trusted partner, ensuring that customers are maximising the value of our solutions to meet their business goals. Additionally, you’ll collaborate across Cradle teams, including engineering, product, sales, to ensure a smooth customer experience and inform product development based on customer feedback.

Your Responsibilities

Biotherapeutics solution advisory

• Work closely with customers with Biotherapeutics-related use cases, in particular Antibodies, to understand their scientific goals and propose tailored solutions using our protein discovery platform.

• Advise them on identifying projects within their portfolios that Cradle platform is best suited for.

• Collaborate with product teams at Cradle to guide product development such as to address customer needs, in particular in Biotherapeutics applications.

Customer Success Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Cradle’s users, monitor their satisfaction

• Collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.

Your Qualifications

Must-haves

• PhD in molecular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in biopharma in a scientific role in protein engineering, focussing on antibodies, with experience with biophysical and/or functional assays.

• Deep knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D process, methods, tooling.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights.

• Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including scientists and business leaders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with machine learning

• Experience in relationship management and/or sales in biotech or software industry

• Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (pandas, scikit, scipy, matplotlib, etc.). Familiarity with SQL.
