What You'll DoAt Flagstone, we believe that compliance is not just a requirement but a strategic asset that drives our success. As the Chief Compliance Officer, you will provide strategic leadership of the Compliance function at Flagstone International Limited. You will have the opportunity to shape and enhance our compliance framework, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct, are fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory obligations, and maintain strong working relationships with our bank partners and our regulator.Join us in our mission to revolutionise cash deposit management and make a significant impact on the financial services industry. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop, implement, and direct a comprehensive and scalable compliance program for Flagstone International, both in Jersey and across all other jurisdictions where the firm conducts business or has introducer relationships.
  • Accountable for defining the Compliance governance framework across Flagstone, working with other senior leadership team members and the Board of the Company
  • Be the ambassador and champion for Compliance risk management at Flagstone International
  • Monitor and report on compliance-related metrics, trends, and issues to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), data privacy, and consumer protection.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory requirements, assess their impact on Flagstone's operations, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage, coach and develop the compliance team based in London, championing the Flagstone values and behaviours
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other external parties to ensure Flagstone's compliance posture is effectively communicated and understood.
  • Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with MLRO/Head of Compliance within targeted banks and banking partners
  • Lead investigations into compliance breaches, incidents, or allegations, and develop appropriate response plans and mitigation strategies.
  • Build on our high-performance, collaborative culture and provide energy, leadership, creativity and innovation.
  • Create an environment that promotes continuous improvement.
What you'll need:
  • Deep understanding of current Jersey regulations and JFSC regulatory requirements, with demonstrable experience in leading and directing an effective monitoring and assurance programme
  • Extensive experience of working in Jersey and holding a Table 4 qualification as a minimum, in a JFSC regulated business that holds TCB and IB permissions.
  • Evidence you are a JFSC approved person.
  • Extensive experience in compliance roles within the financial services sector, preferably in fintech or banking for a business that has operated on a cross border basis or in multiple regulated jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant financial regulations and frameworks in Europe, including PSD2, MiFID II, GDPR, and AML directives.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working with regulatory authorities, conducting audits, and managing regulatory examinations.
  • Excellent understanding of risk management principles and the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Build on our high-performance, collaborative culture and provide energy, leadership, creativity and innovation.
  • Work with the C-Suite to demonstrate the values and desired behaviours of our culture and be a brand ambassador of these for culture, customers and compliance.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex compliance concepts to both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
