Our vision
About Fung
Fung is a regulated Payment Service Provider (PSP) for Vertical SaaS Platforms. We enable platforms to embed payments into their offering in a seamless manner. We handle the end-to-end payments infrastructure, compliance and risk management on behalf of our merchants. Fung is headquartered in Amsterdam. We have raised capital from some of the best technology investors in the world.
What we are looking for
We always seek curious, intelligent and highly-driven individuals to help build the next-generation PSP. We highly prefer in-person interaction to build our team and help each other tackle the challenges we encounter on our day-to-day.
How we work:
Ownership: you are empowered to act, take decisions and challenge ideas.
Open and transparent: We always keep everyone in the loop about everything going on in the company. Feel free to ask us anything.
We're working in a fast-changing industry, so we learn every day.
We are risk-takers, and believers. Mistakes are how you learn.
Focus on getting stuff done, no 9-5 mentality, no meetings without agenda.
- Mentorship and guidance are key: Understanding the 'why' behind our actions empowers you to make impactful decisions. We support each other in learning, adapting, and aligning with our long-term vision, making our work meaningful and directed.
Role description:
As Backend Engineer you will be responsible for building the core products of the Payments Platform. You will learn deeply about the payments and be able to take part in creating end-to-end solutions. Your attention to detail and quality will directly impact the product we build. You will help us extend a modern Typescript codebase running Nestjs on the back and Nextjs on the frontend, served as AWS architecture and implementing Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architecture.
Your role extends beyond coding; it’s about understanding and contributing to the architectural vision that guides our projects. You'll be encouraged to embrace our frameworks (NestJS for the backend, NextJS for the frontend), understanding that these choices are part of our strategic roadmap to build a scalable, cohesive product.
You think big about scaling systems, when backend work is regarded. Being part of the core team will give you an opportunity to bring your expertise, teach and help adopting improvements to daily process, tech culture and success of the whole team. As part of the Engineering team, every member has a core role in designing new software solutions, and proposing the most adequate approach to the challenges we are solving.
