About Fung

Fung is a regulated Payment Service Provider (PSP) for Vertical SaaS Platforms. We enable platforms to embed payments into their offering in a seamless manner. We handle the end-to-end payments infrastructure, compliance and risk management on behalf of our merchants. Fung is headquartered in Amsterdam. We have raised capital from some of the best technology investors in the world.

What we are looking for

We always seek curious, intelligent and highly driven individuals to help build the next-generation PSP. We highly prefer in-person interaction to build our team and help each other tackle the challenges we encounter on our day-to-day.

How we work:

  • Ownership: you are empowered to act, take decisions and challenge ideas.

  • Open and transparent: We always keep everyone in the loop about everything going on in the company. Feel free to ask us anything.

  • We're working in a fast-changing industry, so we learn every day.

  • We are risk-takers and believers. Mistakes are how you learn.

  • Focus on getting stuff done, no 9-5 mentality, no meetings without agenda.

Role description:

As a founder’s associate to the CEO, you will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into different areas of our startup and take over strategic projects as well as operational tasks. This is a great opportunity to get to know a startup from different angles and directly work with the founders in their day-to-day business.

You’ll get the best of both worlds: Experience firsthand how an early-stage start-up is being built, and enjoy & benefit from a fast-paced and flexible environment while working closely with experienced experts in their field. That means you will not only support and leverage your skill set but learn & grow by taking on projects with a high degree of ownership.

Responsibilities

  • GTM Strategy & Execution: Spearhead the creation of targeted lead lists to identify and prioritise potential clients, focusing on high-value opportunities across various verticals. Your strategic insights will directly influence our market penetration efforts.

  • Lead Optimization: Apply rigorous criteria to pre-qualify leads, ensuring that our Account-Based Sales (ABS) strategies are deployed against the most promising opportunities, thereby maximising efficiency and outcomes.

  • Expansion Strategy: Identify and assess new market opportunities. You'll deliver analytical memos outlining potential verticals for expansion, including preliminary market fit analysis, setting the groundwork for strategic decisions.

  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of competitors, synthesising insights to extract innovative demand-generation strategies that keep us ahead of the curve.

Experience & Skills
  • You have a background in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Consulting, Finance, or a similar area.

  • You are an entrepreneurial problem solver. You strive to take ownership of the tasks you get and apply your analytical skills, structured thinking, and independent working style towards solving them.

  • You have gained hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You understand what working in a startup or a similar lean organisation is like. Ideally, you have worked in an early-stage startup, fintech, consulting, tech company or similar.

  • You are ready and willing to take ownership. “This is not my job!” is not part of your vocabulary - you identify problems, take the initiative to take them on, and challenge the status quo.

  • You cope well with frequent change and ambiguity. Changing tasks & requirements excite you. You are able to think logically, break down complex problems and prioritise between multiple tasks on your table.

  • You have a hands-on mentality. You default into action, want to gather first learnings fast, and iterate on the progress along the way.

  • You are a team player. Working together as a team and sharing knowledge comes naturally to you.

  • You have no problem with learning new tools and skills on the go. You try to solve problems with more things than the ones you already know. We will always enable you with that, but your willingness has to come first.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience with financial products and services is a plus.

What we offer
  • Internship compensation (EUR 1,200) and the possibility of obtaining a full-time position. You must be enrolled in a university program to be eligible for the Internship.

  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a growing industry, with opportunities for personal development.

  • Experience the vibrant atmosphere of a startup, characterised by an unwavering commitment to progress, problem-solving and company growth as well as personal growth as a valued member of our pioneering team.

  • A really cool company and products to work on with cutting-edge technology and freedom for you to express your views and ideas.

  • Assistance with home office setup.

  • Office in Pand Noord in Amsterdam North, sharing building space with other inspiring companies.

  • Friday drinks, regular team lunches, dinners and outings as a close-knit but diverse team of co-minded people, and a daily lunch in the office, along with a stocked fridge with soft drinks and snacks for refreshing breaks.
