The Role

You’ll work closely with the founders, report to our technology director, and be their backend right hand. There are five engineers in the team currently. Three specializing in frontend and ReactNative and two backend specializing in Go. For more details on the tech stack, see this link to our candidate pack. We want you to have a big influence in shaping the technical direction of the product and help inform company-level strategy and decision-making.

We are an app-first experience, and the tech you build is our entire product. It is how we have the incredible impact we do. It is what enables the whole company to function.

As we are an early-stage start-up, there is room for you to shape the future of the company and have a large amount of autonomy to shape your role and get stuck in. You should be comfortable adapting your role and responsibilities as the company grows. We expect this might consist of:

• Being an impactful individual contributor writing code and driving technical performance
• Leading engineering projects as a player-coach that drives company strategy and results
• Being forthcoming in meetings and actively guiding technical decisions
• Planning and breaking down work to understand and communicate complexity which allows company-wide prioritization
• Being a reliable and reactionary pair of hands when it comes to system alerts
• Write up high-standard engineering documentation to set up long-term practices
• Shape and contribute to the best engineering culture in the London tech scene
• Build strong and trusting relationships across the product team and org structure
