What do we do?
Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.
We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.
The Role:
As a member of the Tax team, you will contribute to a complex and expanding tax function that is central to Paddle's business. With tax value at the core of Paddle’s value proposition, the team is recognised as a key driver of the company's overall strategy.
You will report to a regional tax manager and will be responsible for managing complex tax accounting, reporting, and compliance activities across the organization. You’ll be part of a global team, focused on both direct and indirect tax matters.
The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, taking full ownership of tax processes from start to finish, while ensuring thorough review. They will possess a deep technical knowledge in tax law and accounting standards. The candidate will be expected to serve as a technical expert for the broader organization, by providing tax guidance cross-functionally and mentoring team members.
This role is to be based in London.
What you'll do:
The portfolio of work will vary depending on the experience of the candidate. While the primary focus is likely to centre on indirect tax compliance and reporting, there is opportunity for the right candidate to build a broader and more varied tax role, which could include any of the following:
Preparation of indirect tax returns for Paddle across multiple territories, including associated tax filings, payments, accounting entries, and audits.
Assistance in the preparation of direct tax returns for Paddle entities, including associated tax payments and accounting entries.
Supporting transfer pricing adjustments, R&D claims, Withholding tax and e-invoicing matters and other tax planning activities.
Management of one-off projects, such as the establishment of new corporate structures or registrations, and responding to ad hoc tax queries from Paddle's customers.
Assisting the business with tax queries, providing guidance and support across a range of tax-related matters as they arise.
Co-ordinating and working with third-party advisors and agents to ensure the timely delivery of tasks across relevant areas of the role.
Keeping up to date with new tax policies and legislations globally.
We'd love to hear from you:
You would welcome the opportunity to work in our London headquarters 1 or 2 days a week.
You have proven experience in a similar role within direct/indirect/mixed tax.
You have a recognised professional accounting and/or tax qualification.
Good knowledge and understanding of the tax environment for multinational groups.
You have handled complex, large-dataset Excel and Google spreadsheets in the day-to-day of your previous/current roles.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, SQL, or other tax technology
You are able to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines.
You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Everyone is welcome at Paddle

We’re more interested in your craft, curiosity, passion for learning and what you’ll add to our culture. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t match every part of the job ad, especially if you’re part of an underrepresented group.
Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to better support you through the application process and in the workplace. We will do everything we can to support any accommodations needed. We’re committed to building a diverse team where everyone feels safe to be their authentic self. Let’s grow together.
